Duelo, a Norteno group out of Texas, consists of singer
Oscar Iván Treviño, drummer Juan Barrera,
percussionist Edgar Rodríguez, bassist Cristan Rivera,
accordionist Dimas López and backup singer Jose
Luis Guerra. The group began by singing at a friend’s
restaurant for tips but soon enough they had advanced and
released their El Amor No Acaba, an album that would feature
popular hits like Amiga Soledad and Que Hubiera Sido de
Mi Vida. Their second album, Desde Hoy, was released in
2003 and was another successful album for the group signed
by Univision Records. The group has been on the road non-stop
in efforts to promote their sophomore album and they newly
released Para Sobrevivir. The new album is a romantic look
at love and all the aspects that come with it. Duelo is
a group of six young men that love music and should continue
to be on the scene for many years to come.
