Clay Walker received his first guitar at the age of nine and even the most casual fan of country music has to be appreciative that it happened. Walker grew up in music and took the usual route of small shows and odd jobs before earning his big break with Giant Records early in the 90s. Walker’s first two singles released, “What’s It To You” and “Live Until I Die,” were immediate hits and his self-titled debut album, released in 1993, also did well on the charts as it achieved platinum sales with three number-one hits. “If I Could Make A Living” was the follow up album and also did quite well with another number-one single. In only seven albums, Walker has reached gold twice and platinum four times and has more than 8 million copies sold at 11 number-one hits in his career with 5 of those top selling singles coming in his first three years in the big time. Walker is also the only artist to have one of his songs included in Billboard’s year-end top 10 country list for at least 5 years and he also has been one of the country’s top-10 grossing acts several times while winning numerous awards along the way.
